The Restoration Project is a project of the Casa Mariposa community. We work in partnership with the Florence Immigrant and Refugee Rights Project and others to offer friendship and community support to detained immigrant men and women in Florence and Eloy, Arizona.

We work with faith-based groups and people of conscious to build a network of mutual support with those being detained and who have been released. Together, we are restoring our human community. Together we are weaving a sustainable lifeline of hope, solidarity, and tangible support through letters, visits, and by offering hospitality in our homes to men, women, and youth just released from detention.

Little by little. Poco a poco. We walk the way together. Becoming community. Honoring the dignity of all. While seeking to ultimately end mandatory detention of immigrants.

For more information on how you can be involved with the Restoration Project email us at welcometocasamariposa@gmail.com.

  1. I have been reading about the hundreds of children being sent to Arizona for processing as undocumented child immigrants. I am part of a small faith community in Mesa and would like to try to move this community to respond to this crisis with appropriate action. Can you give me some ideas or point me to someone who can?

  2. I am interested in how Christians from other parts of the US can assist with the crisis at the various detention centers housing immigrant children from Central America. There are many people in my community who would like to help in some way. Please let me know what we can do or who to contact.

  3. I am looking for a way that I can be of assistance to these children coming across our borders. I’m a retired teacher from CA., but can travel to AZ if needed. In my 35 years as a teacher I taught immigrant kids in Montebello CA. I am fluent in Spanish. I’m a bit disabled, need a cane to walk long distances, but I have “GANAS! ” , perseverance and desire to do what I can to help. Please send me information. Thank you.

  4. Hi, I would like to volunteer for any clerical or other light-duty work in Tucson. I am 53, male, ex-Public School Teacher. I can teach anything from art to calculus. Also I am good with organizing systems, whether it be managing lists and checklists on Excel, or creating databases to arrange information. I have skiils in web development, and can create database-driven web sites quickly. Please contact me if I can help in this current crisis and beyond.

  5. I would like to help the refugee children with supplies, money or housing. I live in Gilbert (south of Phoenix) Can you please point me in the right direction?

  6. Hi
Live in NW Tucson and would like to get directly involved helping the recent flood of immigrants. I’m 62 but in good shape, I was an emergency medical technician for 20 years which might be of some value. I also have been studying Spanish for the last 2 years and understand most written and about half spoken. Willing to travel up to 3 hours/day (i,e. 1.5 each way) on a daily basis if necessary.
