Holiday Card Party
Join us this Sunday, Nov. 22nd any time between 3pm to 6pm for the annual Holiday Card Party. Help write holiday cards to people in detention. For some this may be the only card they will receive this holiday season. Cards will be provided but feel free to bring some if you have them. Light refreshments provided.
You are welcome to join us for Thanksgiving Dinner at 2pm Thursday, Nov. 26th. All the fixings provided but feel free to bring a dish to share. Wednesday night dinner will take place as always.
The season bends toward shadow and solstice and a wealth of holy and holidays. Advent is one lens into the season between times. Though primarily Christian in its current context, history tells a much wider story. Our ancestors held this time with a kind of awe which predates written language, let alone dogma.
We will be hosting our annual Advent Series each Sunday during Advent from 7pm to 8:30pm at the house. Light refreshments provided.
Sunday, Nov. 29th – What does Advent mean to you? Bring a poem, story, song, or just your thoughts to share about what the time of Advent means to you personally.
Sunday, Dec. 6th – The song and music of Advent. Meredith Little will bring her talents on the piano and lead us in a musical night during this 2nd week of Advent.
Sunday, Dec. 13th – Jim Marx Newgrange, Birth of the Sun/Son, Druidic Spirituality.
Sunday, Dec. 20th- We will be carpooling to the Annual Bi-National Posada in Nogales, Sonora which begins at 3pm. This immigration/migrant justice themed posada travels through the streets of Nogales and ends with a meal at the Comedor. We will meet at Casa Mariposa at 1:45pm to travel down to the border.
