December Events from Casa Mariposa

Advent Series at Casa Mariposa

The season bends toward shadow and solstice and a wealth of holy and holidays. Advent is one lens into the season between times. Though primarily Christian in its current context, history tells a much wider story. Our ancestors held this time with a kind of awe which predates written language, let alone dogma.

This year we invite the community and its wider circles to join us for the first four Sunday evenings of December, from 7:00-8:30pm at Casa Mariposa, 127 N. Palomas Ave.

December 1st: “Red Fountains and Embroidering for Peace/Fuentes Rojas y Bordando por la Paz.” A film and discussion facilitated by Suzanne Hesh.
December 8th: Paula Miller. A Reflection.
December 15th: Maggie Kearns… “Pink Candle Sunday” An evening of Carols.
December 22: Jim Marx Newgrange, Birth of the Sun, Druidic Spirituality.

The themes are in place. How they play out is a work in progress. So, this is a rough draft of sorts… the time and place are set… what happens therein is a matter of Spirit. Come join us and be part of the spark….within this liminal space.
