It’s hot. It’s here. It’s the Mariposa Meltdown Party of summer 2011.
Take a lick of this goodness…
Churn and bring your most tasty creation for the Homemade Ice Cream Contest. Stay tuned for announcement of celebrity judges and prizes!
Bask in the breeze from the Mariposa Swamp Cooler. Turned on extra high!
Slurp ice cold beverages. With tiny umbrellas!
Add your creative hand to the communal ice sculpture. Before it melts!
Indulge in frozen treats. Sure to delight!
Celebrate what ICE should really be doing: Making ICE Cream! Not arresting our neighbors, family, and friends!
Wear your craziest Hawaiian shirt or rock star beach wear and bring something tasty to share like sprinkles, brownies, fruit, nuts, cold drinks, ICE! or your own homemade ICE cream to enter in the contest and be eaten by all.
The Mariposa Meltdown Party of summer 2011 is a fundraiser for Casa Mariposa and the social justice work of the community.
Suggested donation at the door: $5 to $10.
Also greatly appreciated are donations of items for hospitality guests and the men and women we meet at the bus station who are just out of immigration detention centers. Such as: cloth bags, back packs, novels and books in Spanish, tiny tubes of toothpaste, toothbrushes, shaving cream, razors, deodorant, women’s’ products, hoodies (it’s cold on the buses!) and gum.
Spread the word. Share the tastiness.
Bring friends. All are welcome!
