Saturday Workshop on Immigration Detention Centers

Standard

Did you know that anyone who presents themselves for asylum at the border of the United States is arrested and held in an immigration detention center?

Did you know that many parents of young, U.S. citizen children, are being arrested and put in immigration detention centers? Even though they themselves have lived in the United States since they were children themselves.

Did you know that more than 3,000 men and women are detained everyday one hour north of Tucson?

Come learn more and explore how you can get involved in this growing network of solidarity.

Saturday, March 26
9 am to noon (lunch afterward)
Casa Mariposa
340 S. 3rd Ave.
Tucson

We will also discuss a community response to the fact that every week day, ICE drops off people just released from Eloy detention center at the greyhound station in Tucson. Most get tickets and on buses that evening. But not everyone. Since the bus station closes at midnight, several people each week, end up spending the night in a restaurant or sleeping on the street.
