Rhythmic Uprising is a documentary that shows how the transformative powers of Afro-Brazilian performing arts are used to fight racism and inequality in Bahia, Brazil.
Mi’Jan Wilder, a collaborator on the documentary will show the film and speak at Casa Mariposa, Wednesday, Dec. 1, 7:30 pm. This is the only chance to watch this amazing film in Tucson.
A donation of $3 is suggested to help cover travel costs for Mi’Jan as she travels around the country screening the film. No one turned away for lack of funds though. This film will show after the regular Wednesday meal at 6:30 pm and is free and open to all.
